The main milestones
| Milestone | Output |
|---|---|
| Drawing and requirement review | Confirmed geometry, process questions and quotation inputs |
| Tooling and sample | Physical sample for fit, appearance and dimensions |
| Approval | Controlled drawing revision and acceptance criteria |
| Batch production | Production run against the approved reference |
Silicone Nest’s typical MOQ is 3,000 pieces. Sampling is approximately 7 days, and batch production is approximately 15 days after approval and order confirmation.
What happens during sampling
The sample is used to check the part in its intended use or assembly. Review dimensions, hardness, color, surface finish, flash, fit and function. If the sample reveals a design change, record it on the drawing before requesting another approval cycle.
How to approve a sample
Identify the approved sample, drawing revision, material, color and inspection points. Keep the approval record with the purchase order so production, inspection and future reorders use the same reference.
When batch production begins
Batch production is scheduled after the sample is approved and the order is confirmed. Final timing depends on the project plan, tooling status and requirements. Share your target launch date early so the quotation can identify dependencies.
For confidential projects, upload PDF, STEP/STP or DWG drawings through the secure RFQ form. The limit is 5 files, 5 MB each and 25 MB total; access is restricted to the administrator and retention is 30 days.
FAQ
Is the 15-day production estimate guaranteed?
No. It is a typical estimate after approval and order confirmation. The final schedule is project-specific and should be confirmed with the quotation.
Can I update the design after sampling?
Yes, but changes should be recorded as a new drawing revision and may require a new sample or timeline review.
