Baby-product silicone parts need a careful balance of softness, cleanability, fit and documented requirements. Resolve the key questions before tooling so the sample reflects the product you intend to sell.
Table of contents
Define intended use
Explain whether the product is a feeding accessory, storage item, bath accessory, teether or another baby product. Note direct contact, cleaning method, temperature exposure, flexibility, bite or pull forces and the age range.
Review material requirements
Specify hardness, color, odor expectations and any food-contact or skin-contact requirements. FDA-compliant silicone material options are available for applicable projects, but the exact formulation and finished-product requirements must be reviewed rather than assumed.
Prepare the drawing
Provide a dimensioned PDF and, when available, STEP/STP or DWG files. Mark critical edges, wall thickness, seams, holes, snap fits, cosmetic surfaces and inspection dimensions. This information helps compare compression molding, extrusion and high-temperature injection molding.
Approve the sample
Check fit, feel, cleaning access, appearance and critical dimensions. Record changes on the drawing and approve one controlled revision. Typical MOQ is 3,000 pieces, sampling is approximately 7 days and batch production is approximately 15 days after approval and order confirmation.
